CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

When Swish was 10, he started a hovercraft business and employed his own father as his Chief Project Engineer. Swish sold his first and only hovercraft for $200 which he donated to a local orphanage. Swish grew up with a speech impediment and though he was never bullied, he was not ignorant to the stigma faced by individuals who suffer from mental, verbal, and physical disabilities. This was a contributing factor in shaping Swish’s continued belief that the most successful businesses can be built on a foundation that provides a positive social impact to others.

At 14, Swish was part of a company that used this belief to become Southwest Alberta’s Company of the Year and a nominee for Canada’s Company of the Year. Swish also gradually came to love debate and in high school, he was a member of Canada’s national debate team and competed twice at the World Schools Debating Championships, finishing as a semi-finalist in Thailand (2014) and Grand Finalist in Singapore (2015). As a freshman in the University of Toronto’s Hart House Debating Club, Manu qualified for the HWS Round Robin, a tournament that invites the top sixteen teams in the world.
