Born Daniel Hernandez but is better known by his stage name, 6ix9ine. The American rapper is also known as Tekashi69 or simply Tekashi, and he likes it that way. Even though Tekashi69 is just 21 years old, he has already had some run-ins with the law that have gained him both publicity and notoriety. Still, Tekashi69 found time to release his debut mixtape, Day69, in February 2018 and has already made a reputation for himself.

After his father’s murder in 2009, Tekashi69 worked several jobs and even sold marijuana so that he could help his mother financially. However, the modest fortune he’s accumulated can be credited to him rapping from a young age and releasing his music to his rapidly growing fanbase. He has performed at a number of shows and live concerts as well, which have also contributed to his net worth.

After simmering on the SoundCloud rap scene for some time, Tekashi69 released his commercial debut single “Gummo” on November 10, 2017, which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He followed it up with a couple of successful singles like “Kooda” and “Keke”, which earned him a small but dedicated following.

On February 23, 2018, Tekashi69 released his debut mixtape titled Day69, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 album chart. It was quite successful with 55,000 album-equivalent units including 20,000 pure sales. Critics hailed the album’s willingness to differ from the existing hip-hop music and experiment with a new sound.

On January 25, 2018, Tekashi69 claimed that he signed a lucrative deal and posted the image of him signing the papers on Instagram. According to him, he signed this deal after the success of his single “Gummo,” and he is taking home $7.5 million.

Unlike other rappers who get big bucks for endorsing famous brands of clothing, Tekashi69 doesn’t want to have anything to do with them. He deliberately eschews endorsing clothing brands and wears what he likes.

His message to the youth is “Make your world and be who you want to be. If you want to be an astronaut, be that shit, build a spaceship in your backyard and do something! Build your own f*****g world. I’m Tekashi69, and I want my world to look like it is on fire.”

Tekashi69 has his own business where he sells his music and associated merchandise. It’s called “6ix9ineshop.com” and fans can buy items like his mixtape Day69 (both vinyl and digital), T-shirts, hoodies, and long-sleeve shirts. Right now, the demand for his merchandise is so high that most of the items have been sold out!

In January 2018, Tekashi69 reportedly bought a glittering chain for an amount of $150,000. On January 11, 2018, Tekashi69 posted a video on Instagram that showed him wearing a chain which featured a “spinning 69” around his neck, that he claims cost him a whopping $150,000. Tekashi69 is shown giving the entire amount to the seller in cash bundles that he had kept in his pants.

Tekashi69 got another expensive chain for himself in February 2018 when his debut mixtape Day69 dropped. This chain has an iced out head of the character Jigsaw from the Saw film franchise and reportedly cost him a whopping $300,000!

When Tekashi69 was asked how he could afford such expensive chains, Tekashi69 simply answered that his work in Los Angeles, California, got him paid enough.

And if you haven’t noticed, Tekashi69 loves a splash of color! His brightly colored hair is complemented by his set of rainbow-colored diamond teeth with fangs that he wears over his regular teeth. According to reports, he paid over $150,000 for his set, which makes him look like Dracula at a fashion show.

Tekashi69 loves to flash his cash around. One look at his pictures and it’s clear he he loves nothing more than to flash around those dollar bills!

Right now, Tekashi69 is in trouble with the law and it’s unclear if that is the reason he’s suddenly vanished from social media. In November 2017, he plead guilty to three felony counts of “use of a child in a sexual performance” which allegedly took place on January 21, 2015.

As per his plea deal, Tekashi69 was supposed to have obtained his GED, not commit another crime for two years, and not post any sexually explicit or violent images of woman and children on social media, among other injunctions.

According to reports, Tekashi69 could not make it to his hearing scheduled for April 10, 2018, and also has failed to obtain his GED. This might land him with some jail time if the judge chooses to slap him with that punishment. He could also be forced to register as a sex offender.

Tekashi69 had asked his fans to keep him in their prayers so that he could avoid any jail time, but the charges against him are serious.
