Philip James "Phil" DeFranco Jr. Born December 1, 1985 in The Bronx, New York City, NY. Known for The Philip DeFranco Show, usually abbreviated as PDS, a news show centered on current events, politics, pop culture, and celebrity gossip in which he voices his opinion, often presented in a satirical manner and with frequent jump cuts to create a fast-paced feel.

In April 2016, he began to add weekend content, including The Friday Show, NSFW Saturday, and Sunday Funday, but the latter two have not been features as of December 2016. His network of channels has over two billion views, and over six million total subscribers, with his primary channel having accumulated over 5 million subscribers and almost 2 billion views, as of June 2017. The YouTube star who recently signed with San Francisco-based new media network Revision3, launched the multiple-times-a-day online video news program for Generation X and Y called SourceFed, and ranks in the top 20 on YouTube’s All-Time Most Subscribed List (with almost 2 million subscribers) couldn’t find his voice on Wednesday. So, he engaged with fans via Reddit instead of his regularly scheduled Phil DeFranco Show.

DeFranco’s post received over 3,500 comments in total (by comparison, Jake and Amir’s AMA numbers topped out at just above 2,600 and Bear Grylls’ – whose name DeFranco once had difficulty pronouncing – racked up 6,500).

Philip married his longtime girlfriend, Lindsay Jordan Doty on March 7, 2015. DeFranco became the father of his first child, son Trey, with Lindsay in December 2014. And in 2016, Doty, 27, had a miscarriage. DeFranco had proposed Doty at his show, DeFranco Loves Dat AZ. Lindsay had accepted his proposal on the on the show in the company of his parents.
